Update: Unknown 11 – Australian movie or series

I found these 2 pics, which are obviously from the same series (or movie). Also titled Australian 1990. Note, the same garden door. I still haven’t found any clips.

Maybe this was just aired in 1990 in Germany. Looks more like an early 1980s series according to the old cars. Also rare, the boy has crossed chains on his chest.

Somehow the blonde boy looks familiar. It must be much easier now, to find this one.

Comment: I found these 2 tiny pics on one of my backups some time ago. I must have or had one or 2 short clips in a very tiny resolution (160 px). One of my first tries on capturing from my old tapes. Unfortunately, I also couldn’t find the original tape, yet.

I’m not sure, but I think this is from the German TV magazine “pur” showing American junior lifeguards in dark blue swim shorts. I’m pretty sure that these are US boys, Australians often wear speedos.

The file dates are from 1999 but could be changed (earlier or later). Maybe someone remembers this episode and can help? Probably this wasn’t an original German production but an US one. So, who knows the alternate title?

Some good scenes and handsome kids.

Rating 6 for now.

Comment: I found this single snapshot on my old PC. Digitized in June 2004. According to the haircut and 70s style of the yellow shorts, this is probably either a late 70s or early 80s movie (or series). And maybe American? Looks like they’re going to play Baseball? Are they carrying gloves? Or bags, maybe for swimming? The left one looks more like a hat, maybe for riding? Somehow the other boys, the white hat and the striped shirt look quite modern and more European, maybe German?

Sorry, I currently can’t say anything more, yet. No broadcaster’s logo. Probably a VHS recording, aired/rebroadcasted in the early 90s (can’t be before 1988).

Rating 8-9 for now. Can anybody help?

Comment: At least one Dutch Hockey playing boy in rather tight, I think shiny white Adidas shorts with light blue stripes and inner briefs. I think also sitting on the floor. Others in white, non-Adidas shorts.

I don’t remember the title. Maybe “Potje Sport” (1994-1995) or somethin else within “Villa Achterwerk” (1992-). Potje Sport was very interesting and had some more (shiny) shorts (including white, red and blue) but also or mainly lesser known sports with other clothes. Many handsome kids.

Digitized in 2003, but probably have been aired (and produced) much earlier (in the 90s).

When I have more time I have to search for more. But most likely, I don’t have the title as the screenshot gives no clue. Who can help?

Unknown 11: Australian series or film 1990 ?

TV movie: Touch the Sun: Peter & Pompey

Comment: At least this boy shirtless in wet white/colorful swim shorts. Maybe not or not that shiny, but still interesting.

According to my notes this was produced (or aired) in 1990 on BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk). (German) title, subtitle or episode title might starts with “Rebe…”, maybe Rebecca or Rebel. Digital file captured in June 2001. So definitely aired before that. Also note the white squares next to the logo. When do they use these?

The only one what might fit is Haydaze (1990, rating 7) which was also aired on BR in 1999. But I can’t remember this scene, and location and girl look different. Maybe more likely a movie?

Rating 5-6 for now.

I found 2 more pics of another, blonde boy

Update: Found by myself thanks to new pics (It’s Clayton Williamson) and checking all 80s AUS series.

Comment: I think 2 or probably more boys in tight orange (or light red) shorts with yellow stripes and yellow stockings.

I found this printed pic (not showing more) and I’m quite sure, that I have seen or recorded this in the early 1990s from JSTV. Probably not later than 1994. Unfortunaterly I haven’t found any digital files or recordings on VHS, yet. I’m lucky to have find again at least this print.

I don’t remember what this was about. Could be anything from a commercial, music clip, show, trailer, intro of a series…

Interesting, but I don’t like very tight shorts. Nice color, I don’t have much entries about orange.

Rating 6 for now.

Can anybody help identifying?

I also have uploaded a pic of Nie mehr zweite Liga! (2006), rating 8.

Comment: Some Soccer playing boys in black shorts. Is this Canadian Alexander Pollock on front?

I found this pic on one of my backups. German title: “Um jeden Preis”. But there are different movies with this title. Captured in 2004, so can’t be the later movies 2014/2012. There’s a 1994 German movie and a 1988 USA movie starring Fred Savage (about running). Looks somehow rather German to me. I haven’t found pics or even clips for confirmation, but I think it’s this 1997 movie as he looks like Alexander Pollock.

Not bad, but I assume few good scenes.

Rating 6 for now. Who can help to confirm this?

Comment: Boys sitting in white shiny shorts. Probably also others doing sports (PE or maybe Soccer ?). Some shorts looking oversized. Probably German (or Suisse ?).

Another entry about an unknown documentary about childhood. The screenshot was captured in June 2003 but could be from an earlier VHS recording. This arte logo was used between 1995-2004 and probably not produced much earlier. The filename is kindh. Probably title or subtitle including “Kindheit” or it’s just about childhood. Aired on arte could also mean produced by others like ZDF, ARD or their subchannels.

My VHS recorder is now working and I’ll try to find more infos. This could take a while and usually I didn’t kept complete movies.

If someone knows this title, please comment.

Rating 9 for now. I assume rather few good scenes.

Update 5: Unknown 2 Finnish movie

Yesterday, I got my VCR running (obviously I only had issues with some of my tapes). So I have now checked the complete movie which was produced in 1989 and directed by Sirpa Sivori-Asp. I still don’t know the title, as I don’t have the first seconds.

The main plot is about a boy, around 5-6 yo who is deaf-dumb. There are few dialogues and the movie wasn’t dubbed, what is very rare in Germany, especially for kids TV. The older boy in pic 1, who also wore the leather cap is obviously his brother and looking handsome without the cap.

He stole some eggs and throwing them to his little brother from a roof, and he fell off and broke his leg there. Most scenes are quite boring like in the woods and there are rather few shiny shorts scenes. Also one fat boy in blue shorts (probably not shiny). The young boy is also shown at a lake in speedos (also shirtless and sitting).

Tuomas: Teemu Lipasti (first credited, probably the little boy), film mother is Marjatta Linna. If someone knows the title, please comment. Main entry, rating 8

I also found some parts of Whopper Punch 777. The yellow shorts are unfortunatley not shiny but boxer shorts (underwear). So rating now 2 instead of 5. Handsome young teen boy and shirtless. There still might be others in shiny shorts.

Next entry in January.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my readers!

Update 4: Unknown 2: actor names found, no title, Finland

On an old backup disc, I found 2 more screenshots. One showing parts of the end credits. I searched on IMDb and the web but still can’t find the title.

Most names have entries on IMDb as actors, but obviously this movie or series is missing. It’s a shame, that IMDb is so incomplete. I also found several mistakes there. It’s also impossible to find movies by keywords, except for some newer or mainstream movies.

So it’s a Finnish movie or series, maybe short film. There are at least 2 boys as main character, one called Tuomaksen (unknown actor, only his parents are shown in my pic, Marjatta Linna as mother and Timo Närhinsalo as father).

The other boy is Sami, played by Topi Salo. His parents are played by Hellevi Seiro and Ismo Sievinen. Sievinen is now a stage player. Seiro a famous actress.

I still think, this movie was made in the mid or late 1980s.

The boy with the leather cap later broke his leg. And I think is allowed to play Volleyball with the other kids. Sounds quite similar like Lindgren’s “Hoppa högst”. I don’t remember why and where he broke his leg (maybe a dare or contest).

So nothing more can be said. And most likely not available on DVD anyway.

Update: I found a VHS where it might be a clip on. Around 23 minutes (not sure if complete) but it could be an episode of a series. Recorded (and aired) maybe in Nov 1994. Maybe in a German holiday series called “Ferienfieber”?
